Sealife DC500
Hasta que al fin decidí unir dos de mis pasatiempos, la fotografía con el buceo, y para esto tenía varias opciones:
- Comprar un estuche subacuático para mi cámara Canon EOS Rebel
- Comprar una cámara con estuche subacuático
- Comprar un estuche barato para mi cámara
El estucho barato quedó descartado casi desde el principio, primero que nada, porque barato significa casi la misma cantidad de dinero que comprar una cámara digital con estuche subacuático, y segundo, porque el estuche es un estuche génerico para cámaras SLR, y puede que eso haga algunos controles de la cámara difíciles de accesar. Además, parecen bolsas ZipLock, y aunque entiendo que son muy seguros, no me siento muy cómodo poniendo mi cámara en una de esas bolsas y sumergirla hasta 30 metros de profundidad.
La opción que estuve contemplando por mucho tiempo fué la del estuche subacuático para mi cámara; ya que mi cámara tiene todas las ventajas de una cámara SLR, sería genial tener todas esas ventajas, el problema es que el estuche es mucho más caro que una EOS Rebel, y podría usar esa plata para algo más, como comprar una computadora de buceo.
Al final de cuentas, decidí buscar cámaras que ya vienen con estuche, y encontré una que me gustó mucho, la SeaLife DC500, porque leí buenos comentarios sobre ella, y porque tiene una resolución decente. Dentro de las ventajas de esta cámara, es que se puede usar tanto en la superficie como dentro del agua, toma fotos de buen tamaño (5Megapixels), vale la mitad de lo que vale el estuche subacuático para la EOS Rebel, y vale casi lo mismo que el estuche barato de la EOS, pero incluye la cámara con modos de fotografía subacuáticos.
Aprovechando que Chico estaba en Estados Unidos, y que por fin voy a sacar la licencia de buceo avanzado, le pedí que trajera la cámara, a lo que el accedió con mucho gusto. Ahora solo queda probarla mientras saco la licencia avanzado, a ver si es tan buena como la pintan.
