y vivieron felices por siempre
Creo que todos hemos escuchado el “… y vivieron felices por siempre”, por lo menos en algún cuento, o en alguna película, y siempre se toma por un hecho que de verdad “… vivieron felices por siempre”.
Por lo general, esta frase aplica a dos o más personas, por lo general un hombre y una mujer aunque no necesariamente, pero este va a ser el caso en el que me voy a concentrar. El heroe y la heroína de cualquier historia, pasan momentos difíciles, y los superan con la ayuda de sus amigos, familiares, conocidos, adas madrinas, enanos, genios, ratones y hasta desconocidos con los que los protagonistas se encuentran durante el transcurso de la historia.
Tras pasar todas las dificultades y vencer a todos los villanos, los protagonistas de la historia “vivieron felices por siempre”, lo que se conoce como un final feliz, pero: Que significan en la realidad los finales felices?
Lo más normal sería que nuestro heroe y la heroína se casen, y se puede asumir perfectamente que alguno de los dos tiene los medios económicos para llevar una vida placentera, después de todo, este tipo de historias se desarrolla alrededor de una princesa o un príncipe azul. La feliz pareja envejecerá, y sus hijos crecerán para ser fuente de orgullo, y hacer a sus padres todavía más felices.
Hasta que los dos padres mueran exactamente al mismo tiempo. Después de todo, morir al mismo tiempo es un requisito para vivir por siempre felices. Lo cual nunca pasa en la vida real.
En la vida real, asumiendo que la pareja haya llevado una vida completamente placentera, con hijos modelo, y la envidia de todos los que los conocen, uno de los dos debe morir primero. Este es el afortunado de los dos, ya que no debe sufrir la pérdida de su ser amado, con quien ha pasado casi toda su vida.
En la vida real, un final feliz significa para alguien, estar solo justo al final del camino.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
