INBio Parque
Haciendo un esfuerzo por educarnos sobre las bellezas que tenemos en nuestro país, INBIO ha desarrollado a solo 15 minutos del centro de San José el INBio Parque.
El parque esta localizado 400 mts. norte y 250 mts. oeste de la estación de servicio Shell, en Santo Domingo de Heredia o 2.5 km. este de La Valencia carretera a Heredia.
Es casi increíble como en el puro centro de la ciudad uno puede encontrar los ecosistemas más representativos de Costa Rica (Bosque del Valle Central, el Bosque Húmedo, el Bosque Seco y el Humedal), mas de 50 especies de aves, cientos de especies de plantas nativas, y gran de animales.
El parque cuenta con paseos guiados alrededor del parque (tours), y aunque uno es libre de simplemente caminar por el parque, yo considere que es mejor estar acompañado por alguien que en realidad conozca el parque, y en el caso de nuestro guía, John, alguien que en realidad disfrute el parque.
Por el trato recibido de una persona que hace su trabajo, se puede decir si esta persona disfruta su trabajo. En el caso de John, por el buen trato que nos dió a todos los que ibamos en el tour, se nota que de verdad le gusta trabajar en el parque y pasar sus amplios conocimientos sobre la flora y fauna, no solo del parque, sino de Costa Rica.
Además de una impresionante variedad de flora, el parque cuenta con un mariposario, exposición de arañas, serpientes, hormigas, ranas, una laguna artifial, oxigenada por un río artifical, en la cual se pueden encontrar varios peces, cocodrilos (o largartos, o caimanes, si alguien quisiera saber con certeza, vaya al parque y pregunte, yo estaba muy ocupado tomando las fotos y teniendo cuidado que no me mordieran, ya que no hay nada entre los mencionados reptiles y el fotógrafo). A un lado de la laguna, y bajo tierra, hay una sección con peceras y un enorme vidrio con vista a la laguna. También hay una sección llamada “La Finca”, con sembradíos y animales de granja, como cabras, caballos y cerdos.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
